These 3 Signs Will Make You Trust Your Gut
Stop second guessing yourself and let your intuition lead the way

Let’s talk about trusting your intuition. There comes a time when the constant advice-seeking, overthinking, and second-guessing does more harm than good. We live in a society where there is too much information, especially misinformation. Some of us have stopped listening to our intuitive instincts and instead when we have big life decisions to make we ask google, chat GPT or constantly asking our family and friends for advice before we make the next move.
I’ve felt this so deeply in my own life- especially as a Latina who cares a lot about what her family thinks and wanting to make them proud. But sometimes that pressure makes you second-guess what you want. I’ve had to learn that trusting myself doesn’t mean I’m letting anyone down- it just means I’m finally listening to me and doing what makes me happy.
So let me break down the actual science and why you should be trusting your gut. Our gut actually houses roughly 100 milllion neurons and its often referred to as our second brain. It produces about 90 percent of our body’s serotonin, unbeknownst to you, your gut is quietly shaping your emotions, mood and even split-second decisions. That little tingle you’re feeling is rooted in real neurobiology- so the next time your gut is trying to tell you something and help make that decision, listen up!
Here are 3 signs it’s time to stop asking for opinions — and trust your gut:
1. You already know the answer — you just don’t like what it’s asking you to do.
Deep down, your intuition has spoken. But you’re hoping someone will give you permission to not choose the hard path. You’re waiting to hear someone validate the easy way out so you can take it. Trust your whisper. It always knows.
2. Every opinion leaves you more confused, not clearer.
When clarity gets clouded by outside noise, it’s a sign you need to connect with yourself. The more you search, the more scattered you feel. That’s your inner voice asking to be heard — not canceled.
3. You feel anxious after sharing your plans.
If sharing your dreams leaves you more uncertain than inspired, its not a cue to doubt yourself- it’s a reminder to guard what’s sacred because you’re the one building and how can you ask for advice when they haven’t been where you’re going? Your vision doesn’t need validation, it needs protection and trust in yourself.
Your gut knows things your brain can’t explain. Stop giving your power away. Nobody knows what’s right for you better than you.
