The Power Of Showing Up For Yourself

The 5 Daily Habits That Will Change Your Lifestyle...and Stay!

Motivation is great—when it’s there. But what about the days when it isn’t? This week’s journal is all about how to build daily habits to not only change your days but to change your lifestyle. Studies show that nearly half of what we do each day is driven by habit- not conscious decision making. This means mastering your habits is KEY to mastering your life. So today, I’m sharing 5 simple but powerful ways to stay consistent and build habits that you can insert into your environment and train your mind to choose consistency over willpower every time— even when your motivation isn’t there.

🛠 1. Start with identity, not outcome

Instead of saying “I want to work out every day,” say “I’m becoming someone who moves her body daily.” Attach your habit to your identity, not just a goal. Who you believe you are shapes what you consistently do. I was never a gym kind of girl, but I told myself I wanted to get stronger by lifting weights, so I became what I told myself and am the strongest I’ve ever been because of it.

2. Make it super simple

If your habit takes too much willpower, you won’t do it on those hard days. Do you want to start journaling? Start with a sentence. You want to drink more water? Keep a water bottle where you can see it. You want to take your vitamins and supplements? Put them next to your toothbrush. Easy = consistent. Consistent = results.

📆 3. Stack your habits

Link a new habit to something you already do. For Example: After I make my coffee, I write one thing I’m grateful for. This creates a routine without needing to remember or force anything. Habit stacking is one of the best life hacks because it allows you to multi-task and not just to check things off your to-do list but actually form your glow-up habits!

🔁 4. Remove the “all or nothing” mindset

You don’t have to do it perfectly to do it powerfully. One skipped day doesn’t erase your progress. You’re not behind—you’re just human. This is where consistency plays the key role because most days we won’t have the motivation to do it. One skipped day is fine but two skipped days is building a habit of not showing up for yourself so even on the days when you don’t feel like it, make your habit super simple that it’s hard TO skip so this way you are training your brain to know that you love yourself enough to show up for yourself even on most days when you don’t feel like it.

🌱 5. Track progress, not perfection

Use your journal to reflect on what’s working. Celebrate your small wins. Momentum builds when you see progress—and progress is what keeps you going even when motivation fades.

💬 Your Journal Prompt This Week: “What’s one habit I want to stay consistent with this month—and how can I make it easier to follow through?”

Consistency isn’t glamorous. It’s not always fun. But it’s how we become the version of ourselves we dream about. So show up today. Not perfectly—just intentionally.
